 Too Late Forever (RPG-open)
« Thread Started on Sept 25, 2006, 12:19am »

Sweet and coppery, the taste of blood filled his mouth as he sucked. Was it the feel of the syrupy essence sliding down his throat that drew him so? His victim's head lolled back into his palm and he clenched his fingers in her blonde hair, silk incarnate dripping through his fingers. Or was it the carnal thrill of possessing another that made this 'unlife' of his so precious?

Dakhan laid the woman down on the bed and stretched out beside her. When she awakened, they would probably make love again. Biting often did that to his partners; it seemed to bring on a lust for his body that provided a great deal of enjoyment for both of them.

The vampire was all sleek golden skin and lean muscle. Tall and dark, with black hair that fell thickly over his shoulders, Dakhan was more pretty than handsome, his ancient Persian background giving him the liquid black eyes, long lashes, high cheekbones and expressive face that drew women to him like ants to a picnic.

Sliding his fingers over his muscled stomach, he sighed. These few hours of rest could be quite trying for an active and attentive lover such as he. A pint of blood or two was a small price to pay for his attentions. His partners never complained and he never lacked for a meal.

While he waited, Dakhan let his eyes rove over the darkened room. Verlana loved antiquities. Old dressers and tables shone with a well loved patina. Vases and knickknacks were carefully dusted and selected especially for the room. Wouldn't do to have the mood disturbed by an ill-placed objet d'arte.

The bed he lay in was huge and soft, filled with comforters and pillows -- the perfect playground. A sleigh bed, complete with high head board and footer, as if dreams could be hitched to the end and the dreamer carried off into the night. Dakhan pulled the covers up over his nude form and nestled closer to Verlana, his hard body fitting into her own voluptuous contours perfectly. His slow breath made her bangs fluff with warmth.

Yes, he would stay with her for a while, at least until she tired of him -- or he of her.

Through the curtains, the moon moved across the sky casting silver rays along the rug. Verlana was taking an inordinate amount of time to wake up. Dakhan opened his eyes and admired her profile. A frown marred his features at the fact that her body didn't hold as much warmth as it had earlier. Suddenly frantic, the vampire felt her throat for a pulse. None could be found. Lifting himself onto one arm, he put his ear to her mouth. No breath passed her lips. She was dead.

Stricken, Dakhan gave her face a last, lingering caress. "I loved you as much as I could, my dear," he murmured, "I'm truly sorry about this." He leaned down and kissed her, then he rose and hunted for his clothing. He had to get out of this place before the servants checked in with their mistress.
