Atashi's nose itched but he felt much too tired to be bothered with scratching it. The itch was insistent. To further annoy the young man, it travelled up to his forehead. The tickle nagged at him, as if a feather had settled on his head. This couldn't be allowed to continue.
With a groan, he lifted an incredibly heavy arm to his head. Either he had lost the feeling in his fingers, or his head was made of cloth. Although he felt like his brain was woolly. the possibility that he had a cloth head seemed far too strange to be true. The itch raged on, but he let his arm fall to his side. It bounced.
Arms generally didn't bounce unless they landed on something springy and soft, hardly the kind of place he had last left himself. He heard a bustle of material and smelled lavendar. Then a cool, soft hand took his limp wrist. Groggily, he opened his eyes. There seemed to be a large ball of fluff beside him; its top half appeared to be orange, while the bottom half disappeared below his vision.
"Don't pull at the bandage, dear," a woman's voice said, "You'll mess up all my good work."
"Bandage?" Atashi mumbled vaguely.
"Yes," she answered, "You got a nasty bump on your head inside that burning guildhall. I had to stitch it up for you."
"Stitch.... ?"
"Yes, young man," she continued, "I may be a seamstress by trade, but I also dabble in sewing up the townsfolk, when they make holes in themselves." She patted his hand, "You sleep now, there's a good boy. I'll come in to check up on you later."
The orange blob got smaller and developed a black bottom. It was joined by another blob near a dark arch. A man's voice intertwined with the woman's, but Atashi didn't really see the use in listening, especially when they mumbled.
